Cavendish approaches Merckx record

The Briton Mark Cavendish won the tenth stage of the Tour de France and celebrated his third victory of the day at the 108th Tour of France. The 36-year-old from the Deceuninck-Quick Step team prevailed after 190.7 km in Valence ahead of the Belgians Wout Van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) and Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Fenix) and now came closer with 33 stage victories the record of Eddy Merckx (34). The best German was Andre Greipel (ISN) in seventh place. The yellow jersey was successfully defended by the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), who crossed the finish line with the peloton.
